I am supposed to close on a house this week and i have a question regarding the hardwood floors.

This floor covers one large area 650 sq ft.
The floor has a pre attached foam pad to the board.
I have refinished multiple dressers tables chairs beds etc.
We recently had our floors screened and recoated throughout the house.

It doesn t seem to make sense.
Dirt or chemicals on top of a floor or embedded in its finish can cause subsequent coats of finish to flake or peel off.
In the dining rooms and entry way there are rugs on the hardwood floors with no pads and apparently water must have been spilled in a couple of areas and has seeped through to the floor because the polyurethane is peeling off in long strips.

The manufacturer says it is caused by moisture underneath the planks.
I used an oil based stain and followed that with an oil based poly.
Ultimately you will most likely have to refinish the floor if the polyurethane won t stop peeling.
This often leads to some head scratching trying to figure out how it happened.

Pulled carpet removed staples countersink any nail heads belt sanded with 36g sanded with 60g sanded with 80g sanded with 120g w each grit we went over the floor once but overlapped boards vacuumed hand wiped with cloth again with tack cloth applied 1 layer of stain let dry for 24 hrs wiped the floors used a tack cloth applied 1st coat of poly.
We are now experiencing the same problem of top finish peeling.
At many of the board seams in the kitchen the polyurethane is peeling up and bubbling.
